Not for sale…

As the Corumbene Stud-bred and owned Group One Golden Slipper winner Overreach heads to Randwick on Saturday for the Group One Sires’ Produce Stakes over 1400m, The Daily Telegraph’s Ray Thomas speaks to George Altomonte about his star filly.

Overreach is the culmination of nearly four decades of studying, experimenting and perfecting thoroughbred breeding – so it is little wonder owner George Altomonte has no plans to sell his superstar filly.

Since her runaway Golden Slipper win last week, Altomonte has had numerous offers for the two-year-old he bred and races.

With the thoroughbred breeding industry awash in cash as evidenced by the extraordinary record-breaking results at the Inglis Easter Sales this week, Overreach would command huge money as a superbly-bred Slipper-winning filly.

But it seems she is not for sale – at any price.”
