Corumbene Stud is situatioed via the township of Dunedoo in the upper Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is rich in natural beauty and features a proud history of rural prosperity reflected in the many museums and colonial buildings located in the area. Established industries such as steel making, coal mining, timber yards and engineering, have been complementated by viticulture, olive growing, thoroughbred breeding, tourism and new attractions like the hunter valley gardens, showcasing over 25 heactares of specactular international garden displays.

The Upper Hunter Valley is home to over 80 horse studs and is widely recognised as the thoroughbred breeding capital of Australia. Thoroughbred studs of international standing in the region include Arrowfield, Coolmore, Darley, Emirates Park, Vinery, Widden, and Woodlands.

Often referred to as the "Wine Country" of New South Wales, the Hunter Valley does indeed support a thriving wine industry. Vineyards range in size from small, privately owned boutique operations through to multinationals rapidly gaining worldwide market share.

Corumbene Stud is located 3km from Dunedoo at the top of the Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
It is an x minute drive from the Dunedoo township on a sealed road, x hours north-east of Sydney and X hours from Newcastle.

The stud is part of a vast 12,500 acre property that runs approximately 1500 head of cattle, 13,000 sheep and 200 horses. It also an immaculately appointed, fully established commercial thoroughbred horse stud. The property has been highly developed and is constantly improved and maintained pro prvide premium facilities for breeding and to ensure the wellbeing and safety of valuable thoroughbreds.

The property is self sufficient in terms of feed for livestock, with both hay and oats grown and harvested. Surplus square hay bales configured in both small and large sizes are available for sale.

In turn, the property boasts a vast and technically advanced irrigation network including two centre-pivot irrigation systems, and some 260 acres of the property is watered by retriculation to each paddock and a number of dams. Paddocks used as part of the horse stud are fed by an automatic irrigation system.

The property is staffed four employees in the Corumbene Stud, five on the farm, and four casuals.

The district average rainfall is 700mm - 26 inches.
